Dibber will give as many children as possible the best start in life.  We know from many years of operating Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers in the Nordics, and from well-known research, that  children’s self worth, social skills, health and curiosity are developed during their first years.   

Dibber provides ECD services with the aim of making every child feel valuable and becoming the best versions of themselves.

Dibber is convinced that in an environment of playful learning and interactions, the children develop a desire and interest for learning and gain the best prerequisite for social, cognitive and physical development. This will build a cornerstone and mindset for the children’s sense of mastery and self-worth.

Play + learning = True !


Play and Learning should be closely linked, as children look for meaning in everything they do and express themselves through play. Playful learning should be fun! At Dibber we create an arena where play and learning are fun. Children are naturally curious and learn by using their entire body and all their senses. Together we explore and play our way to new knowledge. Children's exploration and wonder lay the foundation for lifelong learning. Children’s natural curiosity turns them into little scientists who might teach us a thing or three. When children wonder and explore, they learn how to learn. Young children are, by nature, wondering individuals. They have an inborn drive to figure out their surroundings. At the same time, they need their carers to share their curiosity, allow time and space to wonder, leading the way to new and exciting knowledge. (Drugli, 2019)




Interactions - Together, we learn better


We believe that children need to interact with others to thrive, learn and develop. Through good interactions we learn together. We need one another to learn. Through interplay, children find solutions together, learn to listen to and understand others, make their opinions heard, and safely express their needs and wishes. Children must be surrounded by adults who affirm them and support the shaping of their identity and positive self-image. They will be cultivating their personal traits in a safe and nurturing environment, aligned with relations that inspire good interaction. Interaction with others is essential for children's well-being, learning and development. In Dibber, the children experience warm and caring adults who create a safe connection, support exploration, and invite a good interaction. Everyone who works at Dibber must know the basic elements of safe attachment from the Circle of Security. The Circle of Security may well be used as a “map” to understand whether the child needs support for attachment or support for exploration. (Powell et al, 2015)




Mastery -  Mastery - I can!


Young children exhibit a strong drive for mastery and independence and need to be shown support and respect. The joy of reaching for goals, succeeding at new things and mastering challenges form a beneficial, foundational structure for life. At Dibber every child will experience the joy of mastery every day! The children practice, try, and master their own pace in interaction with good friends and warm adults. We aim to enable children having good experiences and enjoy feeling capable in every way. They will have opportunities to practice, try and manage at their own pace. The children at Dibber are active participants in their learning processes and the Joy of mastery is a powerful source for learning It is the process that matters, and the process creates resilience and commitment. Self-efficacy, children’s faith in their own ability to master challenges and overcome adversity, is highly important in this process, and their ability to endure difficulty. At Dibber the children will learn how to learn, not only what to learn, which is essential for the children’s future success and growth. As Benjamin Franklin once said, “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn”. Children learn by being an active participant in their own learning journey, together with others, and this is what Dibber’s pedagogy is all about.

Meet Hearty Howard!

Hearty-Howard is keen to say many kind words to those he sees around him and who he spends time with. He also enjoys holding hands and giving a «hand hug» while we say things we are happy about. Hearty-Howard is red, as is all of heart material.

Meet Rhyming-Roger

Rhyming-Roger loves to rhyme and is always present when it’s Language Day! He inspires and motivates children to play with language and adopt new words and phrases. Rhyming-Roger is orange like all language materials.

Meet Color-Paletta

Color Paletta is present when we are creative. She is fond of colors and talking to children about colors constantly. She would like to join the color songs, play with color dice or with the magic scarf. Color- Paletta is purple since she represents creativity.

Meet Woody-Woo! 

Woody-Woo is happy taking trips, he is keen to experience nature with all of his senses and he wonder-struck over everything he sees and experiences. He asks many questions which also get children to marvel. Sometimes he encourages all the children to close their eyes and just hear the sounds of nature, other times he will just look and observe with his eyes. Woody-Woo can also tell kids about fun-packed adventures inside the pre-school. Woody-Woo is green as is all of the Nature learning material.

Meet Counting-Connie!

Counting-Connie is our learning friend in mathematics. Counting-Connie likes numbers and counting everything she sees around her. She counts forwards and backwards. She shows up when we have Math-fun and joins the other learning friends! She is blue like all math materials.

Meet Jumping-Jack! 

He scampers and helps activity happen every day. He likes to move all the time! He plays finger games, Skipping rope and when gathering time arrives he is always present. He likes songs with movement and wants all the children to dance to music. Getting children involved in obstacle courses, where children and adults plan and implement the course together, is one of his favorite things to do!

Meet Play-Penny! 

She is full of life and fun. She likes to explore and find fun ways to play and learn. She likes to talk about how we can use playful learning in almost everything we do in life and in all Dibber nurseries. She is particularly fond of role- play, where one can turn anything into something exciting!

Dibber DoReMi


In our DoReMi the essential building blocks of our music-oriented education include songs, singing games, rhymes, playing instruments, musical movement and music listening activities. We also aim is to arouse children’s linguistic curiosity and willingness to explore english in everyday activities, singing games and through music. We also use digital tools are a natural part of everyday life.




Dibber Nature


Science, excursions and explorations are natural part of Dibber nature everyday life.. Nature boost children’s curiosity and through exploration and experimentation, the children learn how things are connected and of our place in nature, and they develop a desire to protect nature and natural resources.




Dibber Solkollen


The children learn about values that have shaped our society over generations, while learning about other cultures and the fundamental value that everyone is unique and equally valuable.In our dissemination of values, we use song and music, Bible stories and Christian holiday celebrations, wonder, creativity, art, culture, and the fundamental value that everyone is unique and equally valuable.




Dibber Sports


Dibber sports kindergarten aims for the children to experience the joy of movement every day. Moving and engaging in physical activity at an early age is important to stimulate children’s learning, language development, social interaction, and brain development. Children will get to know different sports through everyday life in Dibber.
