In the heart of Stuttgart, where laughter echoes through the halls of Pimpleten and Himpelchen, a German Kindergarten subsidiary of Dibber, unfolds Hazel D'Souza's remarkable tale of cultural exchange, compassion, and personal growth.

Armed with a Master's degree in Psychology, Hazel's professional adventure commenced as a counsellor. Her dedication led her to work with marginalized communities, particularly women in prostitution and children in economically challenged neighbourhoods. The stigma surrounding these individuals did not deter her; instead, it fuelled her commitment to providing support and understanding.

Reflecting on her time in Mumbai, Hazel vividly recalls working in a Day Centre for women in prostitution, offering them a sanctuary to rest, obtain meals, and engage with social workers. Her role extended beyond counselling; she became a compassionate listener, witnessing the resilience of these women in the face of adversity. The impact of her work, especially on the children of these women, served as a beacon of hope for a brighter future.

Hazel's transition to Germany, following her marriage, marked the beginning of a new chapter. Initially a part-time English teacher, she navigated the challenges of introducing English as a second language to German kindergartners. Despite initial scepticism from parents, Hazel persevered, and the positive transformation in the children's multi linguistic abilities became undeniable.

As the Unit Leader, Hazel is now entrusted with administrative responsibilities, a role she wholeheartedly embraces, driven by the same passion that defined her journey. Unfortunately, due to her current schedule, she had to discontinue teaching English. The parents' warm reception during recent parent meetings, expressing a desire for Hazel to continue teaching English, stands as a testament to the open and honest relationship fostered at Pimpleten and Himpelchen kindergartens.

Hazel's multicultural background, enriched by her experiences living in Mumbai and various countries, inspires her to explore innovative approaches to language education. Her aim is to seamlessly integrate English as a second language, fostering consistency and excellence with the available resources. The prospect of collaboration within the Dibber International Family fuels her excitement, presenting an opportunity to exchange ideas and broaden the horizons of the children under her care.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Hazel dedicates her free time to diverse hobbies. From cooking and baking to gardening and home improvement, she finds joy in creation. Notably, her pursuit of Indian classical singing online showcases her enduring commitment to continuous learning.

In Hazel's narrative, gratitude emerges as a recurring theme. Whether working with underprivileged children in economically challenged neighbourhoods or instilling language skills in a German kindergarten, she emphasizes the importance of appreciating life's blessings. Her philosophy, that happiness is a choice, resonates with her belief in making the best of what one has.

As she eagerly anticipates connecting the children at Pimpleten and Himpelchen with their counterparts in other Dibber kindergartens, Hazel's adventure epitomizes the transformative power of empathy, cultural exchange, and a commitment to lifelong learning. From the bustling streets of Mumbai to the serene classrooms of Stuttgart, Hazel D'Souza continues to inspire those around her with her unwavering dedication and open-hearted spirit.
